At Knowles Photography, I have always believed photography is about more than beautiful portraits. It’s about connection, storytelling, legacy, and the moments that remind us we are part of something bigger than ourselves.
This year, I launched our very first Diapers for Digitals charity event — and honestly, I am still overwhelmed by the kindness, generosity, and love our community poured into it.
What began as a simple idea to give back quickly turned into something so much more meaningful.

What Was Diapers for Digitals?
Diapers for Digitals was a special charity portrait event created for our clients and local community as a way to support mothers and babies in need while capturing timeless portraits at the same time.
Participants booked a studio portrait session and were invited to bring boxes of diapers to donate. In return, they received complimentary digital image for each box donated.
But the true purpose was never just about the photos.
It was about creating impact together.
From maternity portraits and updated family photos to motherhood sessions and editorial-inspired portraits, each session carried a deeper meaning this year — one rooted in compassion and community.
Supporting the Crisis Pregnancy HELP Center in Monroe, NC
All donations collected during our Diapers for Digitals event were donated to the incredible organization:
The Crisis Pregnancy HELP Center serves local women, mothers, babies, and families by providing support, education, resources, and encouragement during some of life’s most vulnerable seasons.
Their mission aligns so deeply with the heart behind Knowles Photography and the work we do with maternity and motherhood portraiture. Supporting women through pregnancy, motherhood, and family milestones has always been at the center of our business, which made this partnership especially meaningful.
We are so grateful for the work they continue to do for families in our local community.

More Than a Donation Drive
One of the most emotional parts of this event was seeing how many people chose to participate beyond simply booking a session.
Some families arrived with overflowing trunks of diapers.
Some community members dropped off donations “just because.”
The generosity was beautiful to witness.
There’s something incredibly powerful about seeing a community come together not because they have to — but because they want to help.
Why This Event Matters So Much to Us
As a photographer specializing in maternity, motherhood, newborn, and women’s portraiture, I spend so much time documenting the beauty of growing families.
But this event reminded me that supporting mothers goes far beyond taking photographs.
Sometimes support looks like:
- A box of diapers
- A few encouraging words
- A community showing up with compassion
- A reminder that no mother should feel alone
This event allowed our clients to become part of something bigger than a portrait session, and I truly believe that’s what made it so special.
The Future of Diapers for Digitals
This was only the beginning.
My hope is for Diapers for Digitals to become a yearly tradition at Knowles Photography — one that continues growing in impact, participation, and community involvement.
In the future, we would love to:
- Expand donation opportunities
- Partner with our local organization
- Involve more businesses within the community
- Create larger-scale give-back initiatives
- Continue finding ways photography can create meaningful impact beyond the studio walls
This event reminded me why I love serving this community so much.
Not because of the photos alone — but because of the people behind them.
Thank You
To every client who booked a session.
To every person who donated.
To every family who shared our event or encouraged others to participate.
Thank you.
Your generosity will support real mothers, real babies, and real families in our local community.
And that matters more than words can fully express.
With so much gratitude,
Amanda Knowles
